This morning, Misael Ramos, an Austin city council candidate was abducted by DPS, presumably because of his involvement in a protest for Wilber earlier this week.

Andrea Grimes@andreagrimes.com · 7d agoIn Austin, ICE shot a 28-year-old man named Wilber Rafael Garces Perez yesterday at Anderson and 183 while he was driving for Door Dash. He was taken to the hospital, but his lawyer says they won't give his wife any information about his health or whereabouts.
Incredibly powerful technique for an office job: ask a day or two before each meeting what the agenda is and/or what you can do to prepare. So many people will cancel a meeting instead of responding to you.

Now reading. I have been on a crime fiction kick so when I saw this new detective novel set in Austin, I jumped on it. The "detective" is a detective in the way The Dude is a detective. That's perfect for Austin, but my one complaint so far is that everything is toooooo Austin.
