One thing I find endlessly funny about the rise of AI is that it has revealed that there is a large number of people who believe that the reason they wrote essays at school or university is their teachers were desperately waiting for them to provide a definite answer to “Lear: what’s up with him?”

Kant had an ethical theory about animals where he thought it was an impermissible category mistake to treat them as ends in themselves as if they were persons, but every "disrespectful" treatment of animals is impermissible anyway because we're obliged to not habituate ourselves for disrespect

I saw The Odyssey and I think the most interesting thing I can say about it I haven't seen anyone else say is that I can easily see Nolan's Odysseus becoming Dante's Odysseus/Ulysses; this could be The Odyssey as narrated to Dante and Virgil in Hell. I wouldn't be surprised if this is intentional
