Part of the Destructoid and Cohost diasporas. Lowercase 'g' gamer posting mostly about 🎮 Backloggd: https://bckl.gg/mQMB

Every so often i need to remind myself it isn't worth arguing w/ people who lack the life experience to be aware of their hubris. Sometimes young people just need to fight for the sake of fighting and you need to give them space to do that

#blutoid sony has an internal policy not to address community backlash because they believe (a) if it works, it encourages more in the future and (b) if it doesn't, it just adds to said backlash. They're breaking that policy here and i think they're about to see a lot more of (b) moving forward lol

#blutoid double post put I'm watching Amores perros for the first time (doing an Iñárritu run ahead of his new movie) and I'm like "man, TLOU *really* borrowed heavily from this film's score, the acoustic guitar here is uncanny" and lol

>it was not $400 >"secret third thing" was the AI bubble that fucked everything worse than tariffs did >slowed a lot from its launch but has still sold at/near record pace, even if it wasn't the a lofty 30M plus How we feeling about the first year of the switch 2 so far? #blutoid

Prediction 1) Assuming a $400 price point and 2) Barring tariff impact / other geopolitical fuckery I think Nintendo is gonna sell as many Switch 2 units as is physically possible to produce, and I think it's entirely plausible that number is 30+ million in its first 12 months #blutoid

#blutoid dammit, that really sucks. There were always examples of games w/ bad tutorialization or signposting but this has gotten increasingly worse over the years. Devs keep chasing the lowest common denominator player, removing all friction at the expense of being able to learn/grow

Maaaan the Halo remake is exhaustingly Modern in its bullshit... Cortana has all kinds of extra tutorial dialogue. The intro of invisible elites, instead of being a scary moment of guys suddenly dropping dead around you, is her going "Invisible elites!! Look for distortions in the air!" Christ alive

Games that give you some kind of audio visual indicator that an unblockable attack is coming but it happens so far ahead of the attack that it isn't just functionally useless but actually makes it harder to parry or evade. (This is me complaining about ghost of yotei boss fight design #blutoid)

#blutoid finally got a chance to watch this one. Really insightful look into the history of MMOs, but also just the social history and shared experiences of games, period. Highly recommend (last month's star wars galaxies doc was also very good!)

My Halo Campaign Evolved review is live and reflects on the changes Halo Studios chose to make and how they affect the classic campaign. I also touch on the 3-mission "mini" campaign addition, what sprint does to the flow of missions, and more. 🫡 seasonedgaming.com/2026/07/23/r...

Review : Halo Campaign Evolved : A Guilty Spark

To say that Halo Combat Evolved was formative for me would be an understatement. While I was in my early 20s when it released, like many I became

Halo Campaign Evolved arrives today (in premium access) and my review will be live later today for @seasonedgaming.bsky.social . As anyone who knows me knows, I have a lot of thoughts. Some good, some bad and I have more to put on paper. Excited to share fully later today. #Halo #Xbox

Update: We are working on a follow-up to the LG story and have some disturbing findings re: LG's products. It will take us a while to parse everything and we have involved multiple security researchers, lawyers (working on reading around 40,000 words of LG agreements that are, generally, terrifying

#blutoid xbox has leveraged play anywhere in its console exit strategy to encourage people to keep buying games knowing they're playable on PC, but I'm genuinely surprised they're doing this. Guess we'll see if this will get long term support or if it's just an empty gesture.

I was just reminded that Star Wars: Zero Company has permadeath, procgen, and time limited mission and got bummed out all over again. I get it, it's basically an XCOM full conversion mod but I was really hoping for something closer to a proper RPG. Why can no one seem to make this?!

I say this with zero hyperbole: there are few people who are a part of this art medium who have a better grasp on our connections to it than Jeremy Jayne. I could listen to this mfer wax philosophical for hours lol #blutoid

Remember buying boxed games? @jeremybjayne.bsky.social felt the need to get physical recently. So he headed to his local store to pick up a game he'd never played before. www.youtube.com/watch?v=i80z...

NEW: Last week, id Software co-director Hugo Martin denied the studio was 'gutted' by Xbox and said it is now the same size as it was when making Doom (2016). That claim has been disputed by multiple sources who told me two thirds of the remaining Doom developers at id Software were just laid off.
