Bregman pounds a single to left, Suzuki scores, it's 6-1, and I think the #Dodgers need to leave Eric Lauer in so he can work through these difficulties.
I'm really excited to see what PCA can do when he reaches his prime.
PCA ropes a double into the right field corner to put #Cubs up 3-1. Meanwhile, in Houston, Jameson Taillon has thrown 67 pitches, walked two and allowed five hits, including a José Altuve HR. Astros are up 2-0. Still in the second inning.
Andy Pages is quite good. I'd venture to say he's the second best CF in the entire ballpark today.
Jameson Taillon making his #BlueJays debut momentarily in Houston. A Taillon/Gausman matchup tomorrow at Wrigley was too much to hope for. Also would probably have been a double gut-punch for Blue Jays' fans.
Pete Crow-Armstrong’s 22 Outs Above Average this year ranks 3rd best for an outfielder in the history of Statcast. It’s only August 5th.
Funny. During the LA radio broadcast of last night's #Dodgers v. #Cubs game, Rick Monday (one of my all-time favorite Cubs, btw) was crowing about how Pages led PCA in Defensive Runs Saved. All good. Dodgers can keep their guy. We'll keep ours.

The two teams currently joining the #Cubs in NL Wild Card positions, the Phillies and Diamondbacks, have run differentials of +4 and +1, respectively. Worthy of .500 teams basically. The Cubs' run differential is +98.
Edward Cabrera, Daniel Palencia and Hoby Milner are all scheduled to pitch for Iowa this afternoon. Cubs will basically be getting an additional post-TDL wave of pitching additions soon.
#Dodgers pitchers have allowed 31 HR in their last 17 games, the team has dropped 5 games in a row, and they still have the largest division lead (+8.5 games) in either league.
Ryan Zeferjahn is going to blow minds in his post-game interview when he’s asked about the atmosphere tonight at Wrigley and he says, “It was good, but no match for what I was used to in Anaheim.” #Cubs
I know Trade Deadline Day was crazy when half of the posts in my timeline on The Day After Trade Deadline Day are from @numbersmlb.bsky.social
OF Lars Nootbaar will wear number 21. Last worn by 1B Luken Baker earlier this season. #Dbacks

I’m very happy with what the #Cubs did at the deadline. But this headline? Have to wonder exactly how the grinders who get bumped from the rotation — Rea and Assad? — will feel rewarded.
Last night, Ian Happ tied Kris Bryant (2019) for the 31st highest single-season strikeout mark in #Cubs history with 145. Next up is 149 K, held by Addison Russell (2015) and Happ himself, in 2022. Happ is on pace to finish with 208 K, 9 better (worse?) than Bryant's all-time team mark of 199.
The technical term for this is Former #Cubs Player Synchronicity.
C/DH Moisés Ballesteros will wear number 13. Last worn by LHP Drew Pomeranz earlier this season. #Angels

I get the feeling the eyes of the baseball world will be focused on Wrigley Field tomorrow night. Wouldn't have thought a Javier Assad start would generate that much attention.
the Dodgers now 0-2 in the Tarik Skubal era, really makes you wonder if this was the right move for this franchise
