the dodgers rallied but then unexpectedly Tarik Skubal yelled “I am the destroyer of worlds, the bringer of pain, the one who will summon the obelisk of death as has been foretold.” really difficult to overstate what a negative impact his acquisition has had on this team’s morale.

I need people to understand that for the last half decade that there’s been an ecosystem of trans folks in sports media who have worked unpaid to serve as experts for context, sources and educators on what it’s like for trans athletes, in hopes of potential bylines and contacts. That’s dried up.

throughout my adult life being deemed “electable” has been the surest way to identify the candidate who is going to lose

This is rough but I think it talks about a lot of what is missing from the Cunningham/WNBA discourse. Namely, that trans people are not hypothetical thought experiments. They are real people who are being genocided by our government & any coverage that doesn't center that reality misses the mark.

people complain about all the relievers (and I get it) and pitchers not going 7+ innings anymore but what they selectively forget is the back end of major league rotations were littered with guys like Silva, whose job was to eat innings and save the 5 non closers in the pen
