We had a fantastic society trip to the dig at Lowther. The dig this year is funded by Lowther Castle and Gardens Trust, but includes investigation of area around St Michael’s church following the CWAAS-funded geophysics there last year.
Due to the dry weather, visitors to Haweswater will be lucky enough to see the remaining walls and roads of the village. #history #mardale #lakedistrict #cumbria
