So my new phone (2025 Moto G Stylus) gets here in a couple days and I'd like to install a de-googled OS on there when I get it, I just don't know which one (if any) would even work on that thing. I guess my alternative would be to root it and replace Google Play Services with MicroG or something?

In good news: I'm out of my cast at last! Still not fully healed yet, need to take it easy for the next month and stretch my ankle muscles 3 times a day. In that time, I hope to get back to my normal walking gait.

My local repair places say they can't do anything about hardware failures like mine. Nothing Support won't tell me how much a repair costs unless I send my phone in to them (the shipping and service fee for that alone is $40).

I've done everything I know of to fix the problem, including the nuclear option of resetting my phone to factory, to no avail. Most signs point to a hardware problem. Going to see if getting it fixed is worth it over getting it replaced.
I would love to get a de-googled OS on there, but I fear that I'd need major hand-holding. I tried getting LiniageOS on my Nothing Phone 2, but literally couldn't get passed the first step. Hopefully there's something easier.
Cybird @cybird.app.wafrn.net.ap.brid.gy · 3w agoPrimary candidate for replacement phone is the Moto G Stylus since it's cheap, it's got decent specs, and most of all it's got a 3.5mm headphone jack.
