Damaging new guidance from the EHRC will shut out Trans people from daily life simply for existing, and anyone who doesn't conform to narrow ideas of how people should look could face suspicion and confrontation. We are taking a stand against this attack on human rights.

Back when I had Twitter I used to offer free headshots for low-income authors, not sure I have much reach here but the offer is still there. London or Birmingham (although I’m in Glasgow and Edinburgh at the end of Aug and can fit in a session. Will have lights so can be indoors).

Somerset and Dorset friends, I am visiting you this week! Please come and see me in #Frome (Wednesday) or #Bridport (Thursday). I’ll be talking to my old friend Graham “Vinyl Revival” Jones and there’ll be lots of other fun music-related stuff happening.

There's a massive film crew in my road, causing total chaos. I am both surprised - and not - that we didn't receive a letter to warn us. Not that it may even matter since we've all been contending with roadworks, bus diversions and sinkholes for five months. 🦄

It feels akin to mixing metaphors that when I accidentally put my phone on flight mode, my childhood pop culture brain said aloud to 'Come back to the five and dime, Little Sheba, Little Sheba'. (Is this the most niche thing I've ever said here?)

Today I complimented at least 10 strangers while out and about, mainly on their shoes or hair or frocks. I actually kept track of how many I did until my phone went flat earlier. Being kind and weird (not you, men) costs nothing. 💃🏼

I had a few things I was meant to do today but opted out of all of them. And I've only now realised that the last time I was able to have a lazy Saturday was 17th January. So more of this kind of thing, please. 🫠

Flipping round the various services, and there's absolutely nothing I feel like watching. I just need to watch some crap, I think to myself. Flip flip scroll scroll...Ah, SEVEN DIALS: everyone*hated* that; it's meant to be TERRIBLE. I'm going in!

All news about new PM is England England England England. It needs to be made clear when 'This won't apply in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland because it already happens there' or 'Scotland, Wales, NI have powers to make their own decisions'. Or anything at all to acknowledge life outside England

⚽ Depending on which way the wind is blowing, I can hear Hibs from my place. Just heard two big rounds of cheering in quick succession - they're already 2-0 up within 12 minutes for the European qualifier second leg. So for the moment they're 2-2 on aggregate. After that bus ride, I'm invested.

Local football match tonight and on the bus route there, there's space only for one lane of traffic, with cars parked either side. So the bus sits at the bottom of the road stuck and cars coming down can't get past, so it's a standoff. The council should ban parking on match days, like many cities.
