I have heard from a few folks that Thieves of the Tome reminded them of Terry Pratchett. I just read the Feet of Clay and The Colour of Magic and I totally get it. This is what I want magic to be like: unpredictable, system-less, and genre bending. His books are just great fantasy.

14 hours later and my mentions are still full of angry treatises about badly behaved cyclists. Bike lanes are not a reward for good cyclist behavior! They are infrastructure proven to make cities safer for ALL ROAD USERS. Whatever way cyclists have wronged you is irrelevant to the discussion!

Every conversation about bike lanes is like: "Car crashes kill a huge number of people every day, including pedestrians, cyclists, & car occupants. Good bike infrastructure has been shown to make everyone safer (& doesn't increase congestion)." "But sometimes cyclists break rules & hit people!"

A good writing day for the time travel game. Excited to test this. Filling it flowcharts for an example scenario worked really well for my planning, but we need to see how it holds up to gameplay.

A photo of a shaded table outside. There is a tablet with a flowchart of JFKs assasination on it, a delicious lentil salad, and a waterbottle covered in stickers.

Yayyy to all ENNIE award winners. I was thrilled to see games like SPINE take gold. Congrats to my fellow best rules and best game nominees. It's not easy to be up against Daggerheart, but to be in the same class is an honor. Happy to take a nomination in two categories for my first published game!

Just saw a pre Broadway show of Paranormal Activity. If you can see Broadway shows near you: go see this. It is not only an excellent play, but the best horror story I've seen all year of any kind. I was literally nauseous with fear and the tech is incredible! This is masterful theater. Truly magic

I've had a blast play testing 7PP with a local RPG group and this final product looks simply ornate. Jay takes the best parts of mega games and boils them down to something you can do with a 3-7 person group. You must be committed, you must be studious, but oh is it so worthwhile!

SEVEN-PART PACT, my fantastical ornate TTRPG about powerful wizards, asymmetrical board games, and the pressures of masculinity is now launching on kickstarter! www.kickstarter.com/projects/sjg...

Thanks for the layout shout out! I had a lot of fun with the layout in Thieves and it was my first real layout I've done since working the school paper. Also did it all in open source software which I'm super proud of.

I had the pleasure of buying Thieves of the Tome from @dairykillsme.bsky.social at Somercon. Kind of surprised it wasn't nominated for Layout - I love the creative layout work, with the bestiary distributed throughout the book. Definitely interesting rules that work in physicality and ritual.

Thieves of the Tome is nominated for both Best Game and Best Rules!!! I'm beyond honored to receive these nominations. To be in the same category as games like Daggerheart is staggering for me as a new designer. Thieves is on sale right now so there's no better time to grab it.

This boss fight is my baby. Designing a boss for our particular blend of platforming and building was a really cool design challenge. I think there's a lot to be said for a boss fight not just being a test of player mastery of mechanics, but also of the developer's mastery of design.

We added a boss fight to our Tetris Platformer. Can you destroy the statue before it crushes you with its blocks and fists? Try it out yourself in the brand new demo: store.steampowered.com/app/3359860/... #indiegame #tetris #platformer #bossfight #pixelart
