The Senate race: He narrowly won the sunset coast & small UP counties. She narrowly won everywhere else except Kent/Ottawa (Grand Rapids) & the 3 big college counties: Washtenaw (U of Mich), Ingham (MSU) & Kalamazoo (Western/K College). His overall margin is 15K, but in those 3 counties it’s 45K /1

OK, this a trend I’m noticing. I expected her to perform better in absentee/early voting, him on Election Day. It may be the opposite. There are about a dozen counties, all rural, that have reported 80%. El-Sayed initially led many of those, but as they hit 80% Stevens leads nearly every one. /1

This is inverse of what I expected. And this isn’t “Black people wait until Election Day,” bc Midland is nearly all white.

Maybe this is right, I dunno. But overperforming in Shiawassee county (Thomas Dewey’s home, btw) & other small Repub counties means nothing if he’s overperforming in the big Dem counties. 150 vote margin for her in Shiawassee would get swamped by 15,000 margin in Kent.

From Zachary Donnini: “This is narrowing at a rapid rate and will come down to Wayne. Stevens is vastly outperforming expectations across a lot of whiter, less urban areas. El-Sayed exceeding his targets in Kent, Washtenaw, and Oakland. Stevens exceeding elsewhere.”

People need to stop declaring general elections lost because of who won the nomination. You’re not looking at internal polls, you probably don’t know have any detailed knowledge of the district or state. Please stop it.

Republican power grabs in Kansas and Missouri are going down in flames with 18-25% of votes reported so far. Missouri's Amendment 4 aimed to make citizen-initiated constitutional amendments practically impossible. Kansas' Amendment 1 was designed to flip the state Supreme Court to ban abortion

Matt Gaetz Cory Mills Tony Gonzalez Max Miller Did I miss anyone? Seems like a lot of alleged or proven cases of abuse of women for one Congress (& there’s still close to a quarter of it left)

Not many people start out tweets to me by saying my name. Other than my buddies on here it’s almost always a hostile post. I assume most of the bros who do it—it’s almost always a bro—assume I’m a woman. On Twitter I’d regularly get misogynistic insults. It’s better here, but it still happens.
