Michael Flynn got paid by the Russian government to do anti-American propaganda, got paid by the Turkish government to conspire to break US laws, and now got paid by the US government for helping cover up a hostile anti-American foreign intelligence operation, ensuring perpetrators got away with it.

🧵🧵🧵 A scandal that hardly anyone knows happened is Trump giving traitor Michael Flynn $1.25 million in your tax money. Flynn, Trump’s 1st national security adviser, pleaded guilty twice to lying to the FBI but was pardoned by Trump. He sued, alleging "weaponization," and DOJ paid him in March. 1/4🧵

My new book is officially here! UNITED STATES OF OLIGARCHY looks at what oligarchy actually is, and how we got here, and where we're going—and how wealth inequality in the US threatens both democracy and national security alike, and has led directly to the resurgence of empire. Pick up a copy now!

Expect her minions in DC media and Maine media to dutifully portray this as a bold move when it's the same old story if Thune needed her, he'd have her. See, for example, Brett Kavanaugh Any Hill reporters who uses "🚨 Breaking News" on an expected Collins vote is pretty much on her comms team

Susan comes out against Todd Blanche now that he's got the votes. So tiresome. (We called it: tinyurl.com/3bepafkz) #MEpolitics

This is what a decade of Trumpism has encouraged -- a GOP gubernatorial candidate in Colorado who's unsure of how many people he's killed but positive that his Jewish opponent is a tool of Satan. These people were in the tent before, but the rest of the party seemed embarrassed about them. No more!

Depicting Jewish people with horns is a centuries-old, dehumanizing, antisemitic trope. Democratic Gov nominee Phil Weiser is outspoken about his mother’s birth in a Nazi concentration camp, his family members killed in the Holocaust, and the threat posed by antisemitism today.

Whitehouse: "The last Q I'm left with is what's left of this committee? What's left when we don't demand straight answers? How many times has this DOJ been asked what became of the $50k the FBI reported it handed to Homan? ... our Republican colleagues see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil"

Whitehouse: "Next we get to this crooked slush fund Trump family tax amnesty scam. We've got these two new pieces of paper. One signed only by Blanche, one not signed by anybody. Neither of which has any legal effect whatsoever. They are decorative. Can you trust Todd Blanche? I do not."

Whitehouse: "Today I think is a sad and embarrassing day for this committee as it looks like on a party-line vote we are going to advance out of this committee probably the most discreditable person ever to seek the office of attorney general. Let's start with the Epstein files ... "

About a month ago, it emerged from upstate New York that DHS was targeting online critics of ICE by trying to force them to sign a heretofore unheard of “Warning Notice” admitting that their criticisms were unlawful. Now the WSJ reports that those cases ... talkingpointsmemo.com/morning-memo...

The @nytimes inexplicably continues to assert that "the Justice Department ... gave [Trump] the audit protection as part of a deal to end the lawsuit." Nope. It wasn't included in the "deal." It's a unilateral--and blatantly unlawful--decree by the Acting AG. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/03/b...

Republicans Let Trump Keep Unparalleled Benefit: I.R.S. Immunity

The rebellion against Todd Blanche’s nomination to be attorney general, now seemingly contained, at no point fundamentally questioned President Trump’s new protections from the I.R.S.

Weird for NY Times to give David Ellison space to lie about Paramount-Warner. News "requires independence" and must "answer to the facts...not any party or cause"? He's done the literal opposite with CBS. Nonpartisan with a mix of views? Larry Ellison spent over $45M helping elect Trump in 2024.

As Senators vote today on Todd Blanche’s nomination, they should heed the unprecedented warning from more than 1,200 DOJ alumni that he poses a grave threat to the department’s independence and the rule of law. They should reject Todd Blanche.
