I had the honor of meeting James Doohan once, in 1995. I was working for Wizards of the Coast, and one of his sons was also working there. I went to GenCon (the whole company did), and WotC threw an industry party after the hall closed on Friday night, and Mr. Doohan was there.

Bipolar, anxious, depressive, eldergoth, elderfag, anachronistic and eccentric. Boardgames and TTRPGs, video games and scifi, sex with men (kinda rarely, I live in Erewhon) but I keep trying. SCAdian (An Tir!), Camarilla Toreador (former), permaDM.
Rough estimate that "rebate" would cost 1.5 trillion. And it would be paid from taxes, right? OUR MONEY RETURNED TO THE CITIZENS AS A NAKED BRIBE TO VOTE FOR A SPECIFIC PARTY?!
"I'm pretty sure this is illegal," I think to myself, like that even matters anymore
There is no "Tilly Norwood actor debate." Tilly Norwood is a CGI pastiche of stolen performances, and there is nothing to debate.
Elon Musk offered his ex, Ashley St. Clair, $40,000,000 not to tell the truth about him in Alex Gibney’s new, scathing documentary. She told Musk to take a hike. Apparently, Elon is *furious* that the four-hour film is unflattering. But, in fairness, how could it not be—unless it were fiction?

40% more kids are eating breakfast and 15% more are eating lunch since we launched free school meals in Minnesota. Now we’re making sure 100% of kids eat their broccoli.
Watching a Trek newbie watch Wrath of Khan (she's seen Space Seed, so she's got the correct background), and JUST the opening score is making me teary.
The world's most consistent liar is mad because no one will believe his lies. I care as much about protecting his ego as he cares about American citizens: not at all.
Maybe “nobody saw you there” because you weren’t fucking there.
I was left behind because I wouldn't sell my soul or the livelihoods of everyone around me - artists, musicians, writers, etc. I can't ever work in the fields I have decades of experience in, because shitty oligarchs gave my job to AI, and I got nothing for it. Remember Alys in Lion in Winter.
You’ve gotta use AI because it’s the future. But also it’ll take your job. But also it’ll create a paradise on earth and solve most of our problems. But also it’ll end humanity soon. But also you’ll get left behind if you don’t use it right now.
Imagine being such a soulless sociopath that you give Republicans millions of dollars to attack your own daughter just because she had to cut off contact with you because you're a toxic asshole hostile to her very existence . . .

Cutting back on painkillers ‘cause of poverty is… going about as well as expected 🤡💀 Current budget has me about £1,000 shy of essentials each month. I’m having a bad time, lol.
My very first Trek was the first syndicated rerun of "The Galileo Seven". My uncle had just returned from Vietnam, and he would sit with me on the floor and watch Star Trek. I'm one of THOSE Grognard Trekkies - playing the "how many seconds into the episode can I name it" game.
Using an image, show an episode of Star Trek you are sure you’ve seen more than ten times.
On this Star Trek day, I am watching youngsters watch Star Trek for the first time. It's frequently very frustrating - literacy is extremely low - but also very entertaining.
The Trump admin’s State Department has hired Nate Hochman, the former Ron DeSantis campaign staffer who lost his job after an uproar over a campaign video containing a Nazi symbol. As we all already know, that kind of resume isn’t a disqualifier in this administration it’s a hiring credential.

The hiring of Nate Hochman, who lost his job amid an uproar over a video containing a Nazi symbol, underscores the administration’s willingness to overlook past transgressions.

JOB GOT. It wasn't a second interview, it was an offer. It's minimum wage. It's part time. I won't know about other benefits until I meet with the union rep. But it's the best you can do in the Seattle area; every technical field I have decades of experience in...they're all dead now.
There have been so many impeachable offenses, but lying about how you were a hero on a day that 2,753 people died in NYC in the 9/11 disaster—when you were on the other side of town, safely calling local media to brag about how you now had the tallest downtown building—is such a despicable one
One of the best acceptance speeches I've ever heard, given by FRED ROGERS upon receiving his Lifetime Achievement Award at the 1997 Emmy's. Beautiful stuff.
I deny having ever been in or even NEAR Chatanooga!
Sabre tooth seal >>>>
huh you’d think he’d have mentioned this during the phone interview he did that day with a local news station, when he said he watched the towers fall from trump tower and then bragged like a fucking psycho that another building of his was now the tallest building in the manhattan skyline
Trump claims he was basically lifted out of the rubble on 9/11: "Two fireman, big strong guys, they grabbed me under the arms -- 'got to get our of here!' -- and they literally lifted me up, and they started running with me."
Why shouldn't he? Mamdani is the Mayor of NYC. He isn't responsible for 911 or terrorism. Unless of course ALL Muslims are...? abcnews.com/US/george-pa...
