Bipolar, anxious, depressive, eldergoth, elderfag, anachronistic and eccentric. Boardgames and TTRPGs, video games and scifi, sex with men (kinda rarely, I live in Erewhon) but I keep trying. SCAdian (An Tir!), Camarilla Toreador (former), permaDM.

I had the honor of meeting James Doohan once, in 1995. I was working for Wizards of the Coast, and one of his sons was also working there. I went to GenCon (the whole company did), and WotC threw an industry party after the hall closed on Friday night, and Mr. Doohan was there.

I was left behind because I wouldn't sell my soul or the livelihoods of everyone around me - artists, musicians, writers, etc. I can't ever work in the fields I have decades of experience in, because shitty oligarchs gave my job to AI, and I got nothing for it. Remember Alys in Lion in Winter.

You’ve gotta use AI because it’s the future. But also it’ll take your job. But also it’ll create a paradise on earth and solve most of our problems. But also it’ll end humanity soon. But also you’ll get left behind if you don’t use it right now.

My very first Trek was the first syndicated rerun of "The Galileo Seven". My uncle had just returned from Vietnam, and he would sit with me on the floor and watch Star Trek. I'm one of THOSE Grognard Trekkies - playing the "how many seconds into the episode can I name it" game.

On this Star Trek day, I am watching youngsters watch Star Trek for the first time. It's frequently very frustrating - literacy is extremely low - but also very entertaining.

The Trump admin’s State Department has hired Nate Hochman, the former Ron DeSantis campaign staffer who lost his job after an uproar over a campaign video containing a Nazi symbol. As we all already know, that kind of resume isn’t a disqualifier in this administration it’s a hiring credential.

For Fired DeSantis Campaign Staff Member, a Second Chance at State Dept.

The hiring of Nate Hochman, who lost his job amid an uproar over a video containing a Nazi symbol, underscores the administration’s willingness to overlook past transgressions.

JOB GOT. It wasn't a second interview, it was an offer. It's minimum wage. It's part time. I won't know about other benefits until I meet with the union rep. But it's the best you can do in the Seattle area; every technical field I have decades of experience in...they're all dead now.

There have been so many impeachable offenses, but lying about how you were a hero on a day that 2,753 people died in NYC in the 9/11 disaster—when you were on the other side of town, safely calling local media to brag about how you now had the tallest downtown building—is such a despicable one

Bild

huh you’d think he’d have mentioned this during the phone interview he did that day with a local news station, when he said he watched the towers fall from trump tower and then bragged like a fucking psycho that another building of his was now the tallest building in the manhattan skyline

Trump claims he was basically lifted out of the rubble on 9/11: "Two fireman, big strong guys, they grabbed me under the arms -- 'got to get our of here!' -- and they literally lifted me up, and they started running with me."
