Sooooooooo Life is lifeing for us and we might not get to do the chats. Which is a shame. We always love talking with you all about books and reading. But we hope your OcTBR Challenge is going well so far. Still a week left to make more of a dent in the TBR - get to work!

We usually do little online chats about books, which I think we'll probably do once in the middle of the month this year and once at the end (instead of weekly), so we'll keep you posted on how that goes.

Happy Tuesday! How's the reading going? Is the TBR getting smaller or did you accidentally buy new books to add to it? If so, THAT'S OKAY! It happens. Just go with the flow. The bigger the TBR the better, that's what they say. (*We say that, it's us.)

I finished Fahrenheit 451 yesterday (audiobook version and it was amaaaaaaazing) and they had a snippet of The Illustrated Man included, so that's now what I'm going to be listening to this week - it's a Ray Bradbury binge! What's everybody else reading today?

Don't have a TBR photo as I'm leaning into audio right now, but this morning I finished Fahrenheit 451 on audiobook and between Bradbury's writing and Penn Badgley's delivery, the whole thing was so exquisite and beautiful and timely that it entirely remade my brain chemistry. I am still in shock.

🍂📚🎃 HAPPY OCTBR CHALLENGE! 🍂📚🎃 It's the best month of the year and a time to look lovingly at all the books in your TBR piles and go: "Yeah, you know what, I'm going to actually try to read some of you!" That's it really. Cosy up and read the books you already own (to make room for more obvs).

WHOOOP it's October and we're going to be doing some reading! We've been running the OcTBR Challenge for years now and I'd really love to build the community here even more, so if you lovely lot could share away that would be amazing thank you. Can't wait to see all your TBR pile photos today!!

OH but it's tradition that today, on the first day of the challenge, you share photos of the TBRs you're working with. Either the whole thing or just a select few that you're going to try to get through this month. So please tag us in your photos and share away!

On the website, under 'Cool Things' you'll find those badges and you'll also see a downloadable Challenge Sheet so you can mark your progress! But, honestly, approach it however you want. All that's needed is to read and have fun. ☺️

You can do this as quietly as you want or you can hop on here and tag us in what you're reading and maybe even share 'badges' of your achievements. We're in between website platforms right now, but you can find more info at: dfrhanks.wixsite.com/octbr

Heads up, your new favourite horror book just dropped 😉 Taking the classic haunted house trope and doing something entirely unexpected, WORRY BOX is one that should be read with the lights ON 💡 Grab your copy at a store near you, and prepare for a wild ride! 🏡

Just happened across Ellipsus, which seems to be an anti-AI writing software that offers collaboration and a whole bunch of other things. Anybody used it? Thoughts? I'm a Scrivener and Word kind of author, but I do like the idea of having somewhere to collaborate on books (not Google Docs obvs).
