It's been 9 months since my mental health deteriorated so much I tried to do something terminal. All I can say is take things one day at a time, find someone to talk to, and do one thing you love a day. It gets better.
I have something unannounced that might be announced soon that I'm really looking forward to seeing through (a series!). But after that, I'm itching to return to something grittier and bloodthirsty. I have a few ideas, too...
If people think cosy books should be only sweetness and light without journey, growth or hints of darkness to overcome, the genre will get stale quickly. There needs to be a diversity of approach and storytelling, appropriate to the genre. Plus, darkness makes the light shine all the brighter.

Then execs with no understanding of the industry confused the production model and the distribution model, and they blew it all up.

I reckon it shows how much I enjoy working with my new editor on [REDACTED] that even cutting 18k from a manuscript that I'd already shaved 20k is proving to be a fun and invaluable experience. EDITORS - I LIKE BEING EDITED AND I STRIVE TO LEARN 😂
