Maren Morris at the zoo last night. I’d never gone to Zoo Tunes before & lemme tell you: perfect venue for families & tired middle aged people. SO chill. Concert started by 6, ended before 9. Everyone had beach chairs. Got caught up w/a dear friend. We brought our takeout in. 10/10 would recommend.

I just ACHIEVED a building permit (it felt like winning a freaking award) for a project I have been fighting with the jurisdiction over for almost a year + a year of design before that. Truly an incredible feat given the hoops we had to jump through. Now the question is: will it actually get built.

I got a surprise bee sting on my toe last night in my kitchen. A bee found their way inside & was crawling on the floor & I didn’t see it. I’ve been stung in quite a few places now and I have to say the toe had me in excruciating pain. Today my whole foot is swollen. 0/10. Do not recommend.

Trying to convince roof client that they need to just tear down the existing house & start over. At some point a renovation just doesn't make sense & we are SO FAR past that point. I am always intrigued by people who buy houses they hate & just assume they can morph them into their dream house.

Why do people think they have any leverage to negotiate with building departments? If I had a nickel for every time I’ve heard a client say “well, I will just make friends with them and they will let me do what I want,” I would be rich. The # of times it’s been successful? ZERO.
