Across every corner of this beautiful place we call home, I've been meeting with hardworking Albertans who are proud Canadians. They're worried about the future of our province and, most importantly, they're ready to stand up and fight for Canada. youtube.com/shorts/kspGM...

as mentioned before, I will inform Albertans of acute care COVID outbreaks, which are no longer being publicly reported. up 50% from my last report 6 d ago. Now 6 outbreaks, 2 at the Mis (up 1), ongoing outbreaks at the Rockyview, Royal Alex, and Leduc, and additional unit reported at the Sturgeon.
Hey Alberta! Heads up! Rising COVID hospitalizations in Alberta. Although gov't is no longer publicly reporting hospital outbreaks (last report April 16, 2025), there are now 4 hospitals on outbreak. Rockyview, Royal Alex, Leduc, and Miseracordia. Haven't this many outbreaks in a long time. 1/
The government has declined an interview request with preventative health Min. LaGrange. Since this story was published, her office acknowledged receipt of CP's questions, but no responses yet, including about the possibility of health care workers having to pay for their own COVID shot.
Alberta's government is looking to cover costs and reduce waste. But U of C health law professor Lorian Hardcastle says she expects hospitalizations to increase, and even a few prevented ICU stays could have paid for "a lot of vaccines." From @jack-farrell.bsky.social: tinyurl.com/2c3n8r39

Almost 20 years ago, a doctor on TV was asked, "Isn't 12 a little early for a kid to be deciding to transition?" And her response was, "It's old enough for them to decide that it's not worth living anymore if they can't." That was the only argument I ever needed to hear about gender affirming care.
