In both Chicago and Minneapolis, he has threatened people by telling them they won't "like the outcome" if they continue observing. We've watched his behavior escalate over the last year.
If I've learned anything from the last decade, it's that political prognostication in the United States is a fool's errand. That said, I'm prognosticating that JD Vance is never going to be President.

The core issue with the Guard being in DC is that there is no justifiable reason for their presence. Their deployment here is senseless and an affront to District autonomy and democracy. Any critical examination of their deployment that doesn’t begin with this premise is going to be flawed.
The fact that this is published in a low-readership, intellectual, lefty magazine instead of on the front page of the New York Times says a WHOLE lot about how we got here.
