Tempie decided to rub her eye against the inside of her cone, causing it to bleed. 🙄 I can’t see the cone coming off anytime soon, and can’t give her a break from it as it only takes a second for her to scratch herself, so ordered her this visor. Hopefully it will make life in general easier for her
How could I not laugh. 😅 It’s such a dramatic reaction when the cone hits something. Shes finally figured out laying down properly in it, so whilst she had a sleep earlier, so did I after our lack of sleep last night.

We finally got some broken sleep. Tempie on the sofa and me half on the foldaway bed and half in the sofa because she wanted me to be constantly petting her, which isn’t like her in the house. Each round of sleep lasted about 20 minutes before she’d wake, but we then seemed to sleep 4.30 - 7am. >>

Only she’s laying in a way she could fall off, so I’m sat here holding her whilst really desperate for sleep myself. This has been hard work.

Seems I can’t leave her unsupervised for a moment. I walked in the room to take a bit of pizza and in that moment, Tempie ripped her cone off. She then pawed her eye as I held her and grabbed the cone of the floor. 😞
We’ve been home for about 45 minutes. She is not at all happy about the cone and keeps trying to rip it off. The wound surgery wound looks awful, probably worse because they’ve shaved around her eye, including her eyelashes. 😩 She’s willing down bits of chicken though, so that’s a good sign she’s>>

Thank you for the well wishes for Tempest. 🥰 Sorry for only liking and no responses, I’m attempting to look like I’m concentrating on my work. 😅 She is currently in surgery but I had a call to say one of her liver enzymes tests was slightly raised and whilst they are still happy to go ahead, I >>
She’s dropped off. 😫 She wasn’t happy going in and almost escaped before we saw anyone. I was walking past the open entrance door to sit down and she backed out of her half slip collar and I could give professional footballers a run for their money with my diving skills.

I hope everyone is having a great TFNation. Me, this is what I’m doing instead. Tackling the overgrown section of my garden that was temp fenced off a year ago for me to work on. The before photo was taken after I’d already spent an hour on it. It’s been too hot a day for it, but it needed doing.

Tempie is booked in for surgery next Friday. Thankfully she won’t need reconstructive surgery and with advice from the specialist on how to proceed, my own vet will be doing it locally, which means lower fees too. She is insured, but because she’s almost 8, I have to contribute 20% of the cost. >>
DarkestHour@darkesthour.bsky.social · 2w agoTook Tempie to the vet to get a lump on the corner of her eyelid, where top meets bottom, and she’s going to need surgery. 😞 We need to wait for the vet to speak with an eye specialist, who visits once a fortnight, as it’s not a simple removal because of where it is and they’ll have to do some >>
