My god there's an audiobook available in Libby from my library for a change, rather than it either simply not being available or being loaned out as 1/1 copies because enforced digital scarcity is a thing

Doing some silly all day training thing tomorrow that I thought was half day but people don't know how to make invites, and I'm taking a leftover Greggs chicken bake and sausage roll for lunch. The show off knobheads there who'll spend loads on show off non-beige lunches can get in the bin

For some it’s a lifeline. For others (like me), it’s guidance. For others, it’s the availability of options. Refusing a diagnosis is a violation of the right to health - ADHD remains a disability, with all the personal and societal consequences it holds. This is not just appalling - it’s dangerous

A formal diagnosis can help some people, it doesn't help everyone though. Restricting the ability to get diagnosed though is disgusting. It is all part of this ongoing trend of trying to deny support for neurodivergent individuals and act like we don't exist. www.theguardian.com/society/2026...

This endless train of puff pieces about charming neo-Nazis inevitably leads to Nazi ideologies being mainstreamed. Once you shift from "we should kick Nazi's teeth down their throats" to "What if the Nazi is wearing a buttondown shirt?" it's very hard to come back from that. And the Nazis know it.

I foolishly put "early night" on our pre holiday to do list for yesterday, and eventually got to sleep about 4.5 hours ago before having to get up. How foolish, but who cares because right now I got that holiday adrenaline babyyyyy! 🛫🇮🇹

Managed to get a last min ticket for NUFC tonight for the once in a blue moon I'm able to get to a match, and thought I'd get a train which is unfortunately mega delayed. On my way now though and might get there in time!

The technologies needed to address climate change are already known, decades into their development, and getting cheaper every day. If you ask an LLM what to do about climate, they've already harvested the answer from millions of sources that already described it. Meanwhile it's all powered by gas.

This parallels my thinking about AI and climate change. In the near term, AI will make climate change worse. In the medium term, AI could make climate change a lot worse. In the long term, AI might help address climate change -- but it will be too late to matter. mitsloan.mit.edu/ideas-made-t...

I'm not sure why I'm super prone to eyelashes in my eyes, it happens multiple times a day and bothers me so much that I have to get them out straight away or I'll all but die. Or do people just walk around with shit in their eyes and just deal with it?

I finished reading+listening to Vulture Capitalism by Grace Blakely today, I'd recommend it! I started trying to read more this year and that's 3 books I've finished so far, so I'm very happy with that.

Covid lockdowns demonstrated, in a deeply imperfect way, the possibility of large-scale social solidarity for a higher cause. That is a prime reason why so many powerful people want us to run screaming away from them into the comforting arms of selfish individualist competition.

The familiar and unwanted feeling of standing under my gutter, a local bird habitat, and feeling a drop on my back and wondering whether it's rain drops, gutter water or avian shit.
