we can safely assume that any project the Trump administration takes on will go waaaaaaaaaayyy over budget
Breaking News: A new class of warships backed by President Trump will cost 50% more than expected, for a total cost of $275 billion.
Yeah, show me the money! Eat the rich!
It’s been 166 days since SCOTUS struck down Trump’s illegal tariff taxes & big corporations are getting their refunds. $2.2 BILLION for Apple, $600 MILLION for Amazon, $300 million for Nike. When are American families going to see the $1,700 they're owed? Return the money, NOW.
Air quality. I grew up in the Los Angeles basin in the 70s and 80s and remember having to stay inside because the smog was so bad - Stage 2 smog alerts, they were called. Apparently they haven't had one of those since 1988. Haven't had a stage one smog alert since 2003.
Food, man. Food is so much better than it was in 1986. All of it. Poor-people food, restaurant food, fresh food, frozen food. Food is just a hell of a lot better.

Talarico’s argument is simple: Stop treating marijuana like a crime. Legalize it. Regulate it. Tax it. Stop wasting police resources on low-level marijuana offenses. Clear the records of people whose lives have been derailed by nonviolent marijuana convictions.
A new investigation reveals that at least 50 police officers from all over the U.S. have been caught abusing their access to Flock's automatic license plate reader database, including to stalk women. This is just one of the many reasons to get these creepy cameras off our streets.
Wisconsin is making national news because so many police officers have been charged or convicted with using the Flock surveillance network to stalk people. https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2026/08/02/how-police-officers-used-vast-network-cameras-spy-their-exes/
The other day I was looking at Twitter (still gotta, unfortunately) and I got ads for AI apps that were like "you can take pictures of girls and make them kiss in bikinis!" just regular ads on the regular feed
NEW: Over the last few months, Meta has run dozens of paid ads that included AI-generated CSAM. The ads, some of which were linking out to “nudify” apps, targeted men in the US, UK, and a dozen European countries. Some were running in the last few days
Dr. Abdul El-Sayed: Mike Rogers is a guy who wants to put a data center in your backyard so he can feel a bit more manly by making an AI video. If you want a senator who's gonna lick some boots, go vote for Rogers. But if you want a senator who's going to stand up to Trump, you've got your option.
Klobuchar is going to put up Saddam numbers in November.
Every single Republican candidate for governor of Minnesota (including Mike Lindell!) makes clear that if Trump tried another Operation Metro Surge in the Twin Cities, they would support his efforts to brutalize residents
as noted yesterday, Trump has now come around to treating an Iranian toll system covering the Strait of Hormuz as a given. Hard to overstate the level of strategic failure. US started the war purely as a war of choice and ends up dramatically empowering Iran and given the Iranian govt big wins.
Reuters: Iran wants fees of 5%-7% of the price of cargo from ships using the strait; Oman wants 3%. "Making fees voluntary, at least nominally, could be a way out of the impasse, although an implied threat of Iranian attacks could mean shippers would be unlikely to risk transit without paying."
Notice DOJ doesn't talk about its efforts to obtain state voter files anymore. They are 0-20 in those cases and today is the beginning of the quiet period -- states can no longer do systematic removals of names from the voter rolls. TLDR: We won!🥳
this sort of client is the reason lawyers walk out of skyscraper windows
NEWSMAX: Your daughter fractured her collarbone and there was a handprint on her upper chest, and it left a bruise. How did that happen? MAX MILLER: What I can tell you is I didn't do that. 9 of the 11 previous days was my ex-wife's care. What's so troubling about child protective services is ...
The problem is, even if there is a process, it relies on people being transparent and the senate enforcing the rules. And that is clearly not going to happen in this regime.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Trump administration has detained more than 50 spouses, parents of US troops in immigration crackdown, AP review finds.
KMBC are saying that Amendment 5 has gone down too. Well done, my fellow Missourians! Now let's make sure there are electoral consequences in November for the dickheads in Jeff City who are pushing this crap whilst trying so hard to make voting meaningless.
Good thing domestic violence prosecutors don’t shrug their cases off as “a family matter” like Republican politicians. bsky.app/profile/atru...
RAJU: Sen. Moreno is calling for Max Miller to resign. Do you side w/Moreno? THUNE: It's a family matter &, um, I don't have any observations beyond that Q: If a member of Congress is facing domestic abuse allegations, should they continue to serve? T: It's a House matter. It's a family issue too
This was just overturned from a called ball to a strike … I think this is the closest #ABS reversals yet lmaoooo! #FountainsUp

Natalie Portman is pregnant with her third child, her first with partner Tanguy Destable.
Getting ready to watch Leagues Cup ⚽️ and the Marlins 🐟 with this Shark Valley, an American IPA from The Tank Brewing in Doral. It’s a single hop brew with Cascade that offers some nice citrus flavor. It’s fine everyday beer but unremarkable. I’ll still enjoy it though. Cheers peeps! 🍻
