Read this yesterday, and what's particularly annoying is how close this comes at times. ".. substituted “rationalism” and “AGI” for a coherent theology of Progress" .. like, yes? Go on, you had something there. Then it turned into feeling worried that the leviathan might not always favor you.

I get the energy, but many very lucrative businesses aren’t structured corporations. The tax code shouldn’t incentivize one form of business organization over another. At the end of the day, the financial rewards of businesses end up in the pockets of humans.

The effective federal corporate income tax rate: 1950: 50% 1990: 25% 2020: 13% Stop asking "but how we will pay for it?" Restore the corporate tax rate. That is how we will pay for it.

I’m not so bent out of shape about the Google “AI summaries”, compared to other AI uses. Vector search techniques using embeddings a from an LLM is indeed a significant technological improvement over more traditional web index search techniques.

Why is iOS’s builtin document scanner buried in the Notes app? It would be nice if they added it as a mode in the Camera app. I guess it’s better than being in the accessibility settings menu…

Regardless of how it’s owned, health care is one of those things that requires stable, long term investments. The “buy-restructure-sell” model that private equity uses just isn’t a good fit.
