It’s a bit personal but from “fight for someone you do not know” to this is actually the reason I became a progressive in the first place and I am so, so happy that the electoral left is promoting explicit philosophical universalism as a moral tenet

This is one of those problems with the “do a liberal federalist society” sort of thing, the left doesn’t have the same levers the right has. We’ve got some of our own! But the answer to this is: a bunch of rich pedophiles got on board with bigotry, and we don’t have our own batch of rich pedophiles.
