Can you imagine if a loved one woke you up from a deep sleep and said "IT HAPPENED". Only to learn neither JD Vance was president nor had The Winds of Winter come out. That would be bullshit.

So sports bodies ban women with high, naturally occurring testosterone... ...but don't ban men with high, naturally occurring testosterone. For men it's *excellence* but for women it's an *aberration*?

A "Partial AI Ops Manager" would be a good business to make: 1. Employee AI training; 2. Enforcement of internal rules (this hosting, this framework, etc). 3. Inventory and continuing evaluation of internal projects. Let employees use AI but know if they are building tools that need upkeep.

At the moment, AI doesn't really accelerate shipping that much for me. It will fly through 80%. Then you start working on edge cases, etc. It says "Should I flag this nitpick issue as a bug?" Sure. Now my issue list is just growing linearly.

Very sad to hear about Glen Hansard. I first saw him play in Atlanta in 2002 at the Echo Lounge. The members of Coldplay and Ash were in the (small) crowd because their outdoor gig across town had been cancelled. At some point all three bands were on stage playing together. Magic night. RIP

We really need a progressive version for Project 2025 or whatever it was called. "The Great American Restoration" something. Big. Comprehensive. - SCOTUS reform - Media reform - Anti-trust with teeth - Fix what DOGE broke - More progressive tax to pay for living wages - Universal Healthcare

What do people tip at restaurants these days? To me it was always 15-18% and more if you felt generous (or charitable). The cost of a meal is going up so the total tip *is* going up. It seems like there is 'tipflation' where the expected percentage is going up (25%? 30%?)?

Once upon a time "woke" was a compliment. How is MAGA/the Right/the GOP so good at weaponizing words. And why are progressives/the Left so cowardly as to let them do it. Not my first choice of word (maybe that's why?) but let's take back "woke". I'm woke AF.

I don't have much to say for/against datacenters. But the Democrats need to plant their flag quickly and vocally in the "we're against datacenters" camp because it is going to win and lose elections in November and beyond.

I feel like a USMNT, playing without their star forward, maybe even feeling 'hard done by', comes out focused, maybe plays a defense first + counter attack style and plays to a 0-0 draw and the Seattle crowd pushes them to a penalty shootout win. Thanks Trump.

I went to Maine a few times. Boothbay Harbor. Lovely. I stayed in a cabin on the ocean. It was September but my father in law insisted on lighting the wood burner just to make it feel cozy. My point is, I probably met 20 tattoo-less non-rapists who would have made a good Senator.
