Fair enough, but the non-partisan polls of the races also did very poorly: - Emerson: El-Sayed +16 - Tavern: AES +10 - Glengariff: Stevens +7 - Mitchell: AES +14 Looks less like partisan pollsters rigging their data and more like a combination of late movement and biased samples across the board

Whoever ends up winning the Democratic nomination for Senate in Michigan, I hope with little expectation that those who took seriously polls showing a rout for El-Sayed will think twice about relying on questionable and/or partisan polls.

“I want to congratulate Abdul El-Sayed on winning the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate. He is a doctor, a community health official, a Rhodes Scholar, and a dedicated Michigander. I am proud to offer my support as he takes on Mike Rogers in the general election." - Rep. Haley Stevens

Focusing on popular, unifying themes, economic populist messaging, and forcing Republicans to defend Trump's toxic record while staying away from distractions and toxic slogans will be the keys to success in Michigan. I believe El-Sayed will do that; it's some far-left supporters that concern me.

Most people who think of themselves as “DSA” are actually Social Democrats. So they ought to call themselves that, stop using "socialism," and put some distance between themselves and the far-left who think V.P. Kamala Harris is no better than Donald Trump.

Looks like a 10-15 point polling miss in Michigan regardless of who wins. And people have been writing a lot of electability takes using this data. It’s dangerous out there folks be safe

United Methodist Pastor Adam Hamilton wins big in Kansas. The DSA's Cori Bush loses spectacularly in MO-01. Abdul El-Sayed looks like he's going to win comfortably in MI. Normie Dems are winning in VA. Will the media coverage tomorrow actually reflect this heterogeneity or focus solely on El-Sayed?

This is the current agreement Trump is talking about: “Iran and Oman are closing in on an agreement to reopen shipping traffic, but it could come at a high price — ratifying Tehran’s control over what, before the war, was an open, international waterway.” www.nytimes.com/2026/08/03/u...

An Emerging Deal Between Iran and Oman to Reopen Hormuz Would Come at a Cost for Trump

The deal would address President Trump’s most urgent political problem by allowing ships to move again. But it would give Iran strategic leverage it did not have before the war.

A lot of people we need to help us advocate for change are turned off by the hysteria over every weather event or incident being blamed on climate change. Events happen, and weather and climate are not the same thing. We are at a crisis point and need to do better in our language and our advocacy.

Democrats have been better for the economy for decades, but the media narrative—bought lock, stock, and barrel by voters—was that the GOP was better. They have used that perception effectively in campaigns since Reagan. Trump has been so bad that he has shattered that perception, maybe for good.

Trump’s tariffs, his war in Iran, and inflation: Donald Trump has wrecked the US economy. That has consequences. For the first time in nearly a decade, Americans now trust Democrats more than Republicans to handle the economy.

This is why MAGA podcasters are jumping ship. They’re losing millions of viewers. For years, they built audiences by promising America First, no new wars, and economic prosperity. Then Trump gave them inflation, higher gas prices, and a war with Iran.
