Very happy about this publication. We managed to pool two unique data sources: Behavioral reading data from the reading app Bookbites (used in many schools in DK) and population level data on library-loans. Both sources of data confirmed the same trend regarding gender differences in reading.

This is a challenge as boys already struggle more with reading skills than girls. Congrats to Astrid Olsen. On Monday she successfully defended her PhD thesis "The Role of Career Guidance in Reducing Access to Higher Education". It was a privilege to advise her. Thankfully we will have the opportunity to continue working together in the EDUCHANGE (www.educhange.hi.is) project.

At my department we are slowly transitioning to Jamovi for undergrad teaching. I am skeptical because J does not encourage the generation syntax files - even if the generation of R syntax is possible. R seems like a big leap so I am thinking that Stata might be still be my preferred choice...
