I just really want .NET to be a place we can do actually good modern web dev just like everywhere else.

Here's a work-in-progress video of C# support for @astro.build Obviously requires a .NET runtime at build-time, but it's install path is just a basic NPM package, that runs a sidecar server containing Roslyn to support all the same hot-reload / static dev stuff that we love Astro for.

So, um, for my next "why not both" trick, we're gonna make C# and Razor work in @astro.build Bringing C# to modern web tech one compatibility move at a time.

Server rendering, client side rendering, hooks, ESM imports, but it binds directly to C# and generates TypeScript type definitions for all your server side code transparently. It's really cool. Coming soon!

It's no secret that I think JSX is the dominent form of web app markup today. But I've always wanted the framework and language smarts of C# when I've been doing web things - I'm putting together a new library called JsxCore, a JSX + TypeScript View Engine for ASP.NET Core.

I'm a fan of the built in lowest common denominator DI in modern .NET, but it drives people to build a bunch of disconnected registrations rather than good constructors and call graphs. You can have both- good ctors and well thought out initilisation, and DI. Wire the latter to the former.
