as a culture we have really given "ideas" way too much credit. ideas are a dime a dozen. they happen all the time. the magic is way more in the doing, and the doing's diminished stature is linked to lack of respect for labor and, more recently, skill and expertise.

The argument was never “AIPAC bribes politicians”, it was more like “AIPAC spends large amounts of money to defeat anti-Zionist candidates” (see: eg Cori Bush). This worked as long as Palestine wasn’t a salient issue for most Dem primary voters, but that appears to have changed

wrote about how aipac has been badly weakened—and how progressives really should not help it out by overstating its influence. I think that Track AIPAC site often overstates AIPAC's power and I think that helps AIPAC, which is bad. www.everythingishorrible.net/p/aipac-does...

Just saw The Fever by Wallace Shawn, a socialist tour de force about Marx, commodity fetishism, bourgeois guilt, and the moral inevitability of revolution. Shawn (at 82) gave a gripping 2 hour monologue I won’t soon forget!
