I mostly post about music or bother my friends. Play music in Grand Banks & Dais Queue & Radon Abatement. Radon Abatement:https://radonabatement.bandcamp.com/ Grand Banks: https://grand-banks.bandcamp.com/ Dais Queue: https://daisqueue.bandcamp.com/

Going to reshare this MRR radio show again for anyone who missed it the first time. a) it is really cool to see Radon Abatement continue to show up on playlists, and b) Erika E's shows are killer. She truly digs deep into the wilds to find stuff. Usually multiple (good) bands I have never heard of.

Very cool to see Radon Abatement show up on a Maximum Rock and Roll radio show. Erika Elizabeth, who did this particular show rules (she plays in the excellent band Collate and runs the Domestic Departure label). Have a listen, it is a really good show! www.maximumrocknroll.com/radio_show/m...

Next show at Visible Records set up by Erin O.: Age of Peace (Angie and Micah of Artificial Go/ROD in low key minimal mode) + Heavy Flow (Charlottesville based multi-instrumental duo, magical shit) + Devon Sproule (one of the best songwriters in Charlottesville). Monday, Aug. 24. Will be very good.

I was just having the thought to myself "I should probably do something useful soon" before thinking through that I worked a full day yesterday then ran to the space we had our show in to start setting up the show then ran the show then played the show then broke the room down & put everything away.

Tomorrow night! It will be a good time. Added Dimensions and Ear Infection rule and we will have a pile of tapes, tshirts, and maybe some art for you too. Head on out!

Flyer for the upcoming Radon Abatement tape release show is here. Excellently risographed by our own @joshkrahn.bsky.social. Added Dimensions rule & will play as will local heavies Ear Infection (some of the best musicians in town) including @gorgonparis.bsky.social. Will be a good one!

Image of the flyer for the show. Text includes: Friday, July 31, 8pm at Visible Records. $10 suggested donation but no one turned away for lack of funds. Bands are Radon Abatement (cassette release show) + Added Dimensions rule+ Ear Infection. Text is in blue and the graphic for the flyer is three colored wavy line in yellow, pink, and blue that intersect and overlap to make some orange and purple and green sections.

This is coming up fast! A little over a week away. We will play the whole album +1 (though in a completely different order). It will be a good time, Added Dimensions and Ear Infection rule.

I hope the AI-slop video generators that a lot of people are sharing on other sites run their course as a thing people think are fun soon. Kind of depressing to see it so widely shared and treated like normal fun online stuff. (I am fun occasionally but not often these days lol, this stuff sucks.)

Sorry to say that Layne and Nate will not make it due to some health issues (nothing too serious but enough for one of them need to rest and heal up). The show will go on however. @joshkrahn.bsky.social, Erin O'Hare and myself will play a Dais Queue Ensemble show in their place.

Next show at Visible Records in Charlottesville is coming up in a couple of weeks, and here is the flyer! Excited about this one, should be a very cool night I think.

Flyer for a show coming up at Visible Records in Charlottesville, Virginia on Friday, July 10. The acts playing are the Layne Garrett & Nate Scheible duo, Space Saver, and Soliton. Event starts at 8pm, all ages, with a donation of $10-15 suggested but no one turned away for lack of funds. The image is a set of abstract designs in various colors collaged over a fair amount of the visual field interspered with black text on a white background and some black and white photos and illustrations of hands.

Looks like the Radon Abatement tape release show will be on Friday, July 31, at Visible Records in Charlottesville, Virginia. Added Dimensions will also play and maybe more some more action as well, we will see. Excited about the show, excited about the tapes being out there in the world.

Photo of part of an art show at Infinite Repeats in Charlottesville, Virginia (it was a members' show displaying item people made in the shop). It displays a cassette with the risographed Radon Abatement tape artwork on it, which is a grid of dots in grey and pink overlaid in an offset fashion over each other with the nane of the band printed on it in the same colors. There are a set of 4 variations on the wall next to it (simple black and white, simple grey, a purple created by overlapping the two colors directly, and the standard offset pink/grey). Also in the display are an array of four polaroid pictures of the band members and an insert for the cassette, also risographed, which shows a small recreation of the four polaroids shrunk down to fit in the insert, which is folded in half to have the album credits on the other side (too small to read).

Charlottesville! Friday 7/10! This is going to be an exceptional night of music in a magical space. I can’t be there but maybe you can? If you can’t, send a friend! Layne Garrett & Nate Scheible duo Space Saver Soliton 8 PM Friday July 10 Visible Records 1740 Broadway 22902-5877 From Davis:

Layne Garrett & Nate Scheible are two very inventive, interesting musicians who are frequent collaborators who quite frequently can be found playing and organizing things at the crucial DIY arts and community organizing space Rhizome in Tacoma Park / Washington DC. Each does quite a bit to make that place as vibrant as it is in their own ways, but together as musicians they are quite a force. Layne is equally adept at playing unorthodox, wild improvisational guitar via lots of objects, extended techniques, and preparations and energized, riff-laden avant rock passages. Nate has largely played a drum kit and other percussion when I have seen him, and he similarly can take his playing in all kinds of directions, though he makes very cool solo material that ranges across all kinds of sounds and approaches. Together they promise to be a very cool live experience.

Luckily for us when I asked Space Saver if they were available to play on the bill they were! They are a great pairing with Nate & Layne as they of course also bring a lot of energy, inventiveness, and extremely adept navigations of sound, time, and volume. They are certainly one of the best live bands around, and any chance to see them play is not to be missed. Glad to have them on board.
https://space-saver.bandcamp.com/album/ exponential-bummerI was also very excited that Soliton agreed to hop on the bill. Generally consisting of bassist David Menestres and electronics manipulator Walter Wright as core members with invited improvisors joining in, they tend to always be surprising and delightful live as you never quite know what will make it into the mix. On this night they will be joined by Kittie Cooper on (most likely) guitar and electronics and Neda Nadim on drum machine and no-input mixer (or some similar setup, improvisors may always find ways to surprise you when they show up to the gig!)
Really it is a night full of cool possibilities. Good people in a good room to see this kind of thing in, it will be a good time!
Music a little after 8pm, $10-15 suggested donation but no one turned away for lack of funds, all ages.
Hope to see some of you there!
