I'm not sure if she's aware of it but this 2022 @rebeccajtiffany.bsky.social tweet is basically an article of faith at @liberalcurrents.com ( @sjshancoxli.liberalcurrents.com quoted it in www.liberalcurrents.com/feminism-wit... and I've referenced it countless times ever since)
“housing doesn’t get cheaper by distributing scarcity. It gets cheaper by ending it.” I agree with Jose.
Jose Andres is the absolute GOAT. turbolib who has brought meals to disaster zones after the Haiti earthquake & to war-stricken families in Ukraine and Gaza and now he’s YIMBYposting in the face of Spain’s severe housing shortage
I think this is the first time I've lived walking distance from a grocery store and I'm out of my mind about it. I'll walk there several times a day. Oh did I forget to grab something? No big deal I'll simply Walk To The Store
This is why I'm so in favor of accessory commercial units. Just getting people in the US used to **walking** for a cup of coffee or a sandwich in the neighborhood may finally do something to rid Americans of our terminal car brain.

it is quite confusing that “inclusionary zoning” is not the opposite of “exclusionary zoning”, but actually functions as a tool of exclusionary zoning
So-called “inclusionary zoning,” the practice of requiring home builders to rent new apartments at a loss to low-income tenants, is a tax on new housing that worsens the housing shortage and raises rents overall in exchange for a handful of means-tested units. It’s bad policy!

On the list of top things I don’t give a shit about, bringing beverages to a job interview is really high up there. Why, sweet jesus, would anyone care about that? Y’all will do a Discourse about literally anything lmao
But the evidence is clear: high-end demand can raise low-end rents, and high-end supply can lower them. If you care about low-end affordability, your strategy must include high-end supply to create vacancy chains and prevent demand cascades. www.buildingabundance.ca/p/housing-la... 2/

Rich newcomers can raise low-end rents, and adding high-end homes can lower them

"let's stop pretending to be so clever and just produce used cars."
Strange article from Strong Towns on "filtering". Fundamentally, they do not believe in indirect spillover effects, where adding high-end supply can reduce low-end rents. Instead, we have to intentionally and directly target the low-end. 1/
31% of libs surveyed publicly told a pollster they would feel positive if Trump was popped during a speech lol
"We asked 683 Democratic voters who they might support in the presidential primary that seems set to start any month now, whether Democratic senators should end the filibuster, and how they would feel if Trump died overnight, plus dozens of other questions." www.liberalcurrents.com/what-are-dem...
some idiot pundit: wow, libs hate him this much but they don't want him to die, this must be a sign they're interested in healing *Evelyn Normielib leaning into the mic* I want him to suffer
I really think the US would be better if we hadn’t designed almost all of it in the last century like the only people who walk are poor people and iconoclasts
Honestly surprised “died in his sleep” didn’t poll higher
This is frying me
