History doesn’t become untrue just because an administration doesn’t like it. In order for us to grow as a nation and truly become the more perfect union the founders aspired to, we must learn from our past - the good, the bad, and the ugly. www.washingtonpost.com/style/2026/0...

Aging utility infrastructure is a huge cost driver on our utility bills. We need to be smarter & more efficient and put rate payers first when we are designing and rebuilding this critical infrastructure. That cost factor has been at the heart of the work I’ve been doing related to energy.

Sometimes legislation helps raise the profile of an issue. Grateful to the advocates who raised concerns about the JNC’s lengthy lead time for signing up for public comment. Was glad to carry legislation to limit that lead time & appreciate the JNC for hearing the feedback & changing their process.

Appreciate PBN covering the @ripta.com Flex service Aquidneck Island expansion. This win was a long time coming and a lot of work behind the scenes. Not everyone can drive, much less afford a car, and it’s important to we provide safe, reliable comprehensive transportation options.

It’s good that the Supreme Court confirmed people born in America are … wait for it … Americans. 🇺🇸 But anything less than a 9-0 decision upholding this clear constitutional right is extraordinarily troubling. There's a pattern here that cannot be ignored. www.aft.org/press-releas...

Beyond disappointing that Gov McKee vetoed the energy benchmarking legislation. Our energy systems aren’t working for working people & we need to fight for bold system transformation with that in mind. Proud to work with fellow fighters, not folders, Senator Kallman and Representative Kislak.

A new report shows that a Texas detention center endangered people’s health, lost evidence in a death investigation, and wasted millions in taxpayer dollars. We must demand greater transparency and accountability from DHS and these horrific camps. www.npr.org/2026/06/10/n...

Busy day yesterday to close out the 2026 legislative session. Highlight was attending the signing ceremony for the legislation to hold institutions accountable for childhood sex abuse, was recognized as a new fellow with the RI Bar Association Foundation, and then passed some good legislation! 1/2

I support 4 amendments to the Let RI Vote Act - adding explicit anti-discrimination protections, restoring courts' full voting rights checklist, allowing winners to recover legal costs, and centering community voices in remedies. RI has always made it easier to vote - let's keep it that way. ✅

Utility Profits: Part 2 The Receipts Followup from yesterday’s video. The utility said the quiet part out loud (working on getting the video) this is about the profit for them. Screenshots are from previous PUC orders rejecting the accounting practice that the RI state budget is trying to restore.

🚨The RI budget includes a provision would cost RI ratepayers at least $11.6 million in additional utility profit in the 1st 5yrs alone from road repaving costs. The budget isn't final yet. Contact your legislators & ask them to remove this language before the budget is approved. #RatepayerProtection
