Showing up for Newport Running for Newport City Council Ward 2 to take bold action for a livable future for our neighbors. she/her Learn more & join the campaign: www.conklinfornewport.com

I’m honored to support @dawneuer.bsky.social in her reelection. Over her time in the Senate, she has been a steadfast champion for the environment, health care & reproductive rights, and good governance. She has delivered results for Newporters and I am confident she’ll continue to do so.

Emily’s headshot superimposed on a dark background next to the quote:
“"Dawn is the environmental
champion we need in the statehouse.
She understands environmental policy and the nuance of the challenges our island is facing as the climate changes. She translates that understanding to action - she wrote the Act on Climate and is working to keep all parties accountable to the law. I trust Dawn to stand up for our communities and give voice to those who aren't always heard, especially in terms of environmental justice."

As we approach the Sept 9 primary, bringing back this piece from @roselund.bsky.social on why @dawneuer.bsky.social is the right choice for RI Senate 13. She is the environmental champion we need in the statehouse at this critical time.

Last week @whatsupnewp.com published my op-ed on why we need to bring @dawneuer.bsky.social back to the Rhode Island Senate. tldr; Dawn has tremendous technical knowledge of utility & energy matters & is a real fighter in terms of addressing the #climatecrisis. /1 whatsupnewp.com/2026/07/lett...

Councilor Smyth put forth a resolution earlier this year directing city staff to examine our ordinances & regulations around hotels and propose changes to prevent runaway expansion. Though the resolution failed, I spoke in favor.

I hit my first doors yesterday in prep for the meet & greet at Avery’s! It’s so fun to see people at the doors and talk with them but I can’t hit every door in Ward 2 on my own! Sign up on my website to volunteer and join me: www.conklinfornewport.com

I'm behind again. I did my first canvass before this and wow, walking in the heat is tiring. Make sure you hydrate out there folks! (22/?)

Another campaign milestone, another video at Newport City Hall. I have my nomination papers and I need at least 50 signatures to get on the ballot. Ward 2 voters, meet me at the Elks tonight or around town until July 10 to sign!

Officially declared my candidacy today! Excited to take this step and file with the state of RI. Now I need signatures from Ward 2 voters to get on the ballot. If you’re a Ward 2 voter, meet me and the Newport Dem City Committee at the Elks next Tuesday, 6/30 from 5:30-7:30pm.

Transportation is the largest source of greenhouse gas emissions in #RhodeIsland and in the United States. Bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure is a #climate solution - and an important one. Also means fewer road deaths. And better cities. And healthier populations. I could go on...

Thank you @bikenewportri.bsky.social for hosting this delightful event on an absolutely beautiful Newport morning. Great to see Council Chair Holder, Councilor Smyth, @dawneuer.bsky.social & @amo.house.gov there to support bike & ped infrastructure! And a morning of fun.

I’m so excited to participate in this Run for Climate training from @leadlocally.bsky.social! Climate change is a global issue but we can take meaningful action within our own communities. The first session is tonight and I can’t wait to learn. Let’s elect climate champions! Including me 😉

This moment demands bold action -- from all of us. That's why we're running a free, 4-week training for anyone who wants to learn how to run for office. https://actionnetwork.org/forms/apply-to-run-for-climate-june-2026/
