In reading “centrist” European leaders’ statements, one would inevitably conclude that the real horror is that tens of thousands of non-white people tried to enter European territory. Not that at least 57 of them died while trying to do so, and thousands are still hungry, tired, and without shelter.

AIPAC undoubtedly punished Andy Levin because he sponsored a bill that sought oversight and restrictions on US military aid to Israel. He is a Jew, a Zionist, and was at the time a core progressive in Congress. Stevens will stoop as low as she has to to win. But what if…she loses instead? 🤔

Stevens primary victory over Andy Levin (backed by AIPAC to take Levin down) was a particularly ugly fight, so the way she’s positioning herself and El Sayed vis à vis Jews and antisemitism is … certainly a choice.

this dynamic described by jenny racicot is, as i understand it, very common among progressive women in maine. they’ve been put in an impossible position and feel like they’re tanking platner’s campaign when in reality he did that on his own by being a violent and reckless person.
