This is a cool link, but also, I first misread it as the WORD That Made the Bible. So ... what is the one Old T'ment word or phrase that lets you know exactly what book you're reading? (Like "wine-dark".) Probably "Israel," a portmanteau meaning "wrestles w/ God" But I'm going with "stiff-necked."

When in fact for some of these non-state folks we have tons of documentation in their own words! Others just a few statements, others entirely through the stereotyped language of empires. This chapter has an up to date open-access rundown of what we know, with further reading:

Pleased to report that I'm about half way through data entry for a stack of Bonowitz-family #scrabble score sheets dating back to 2001. My question: What are the most interesting or illuminating stats I should try to compile once the database is ready? (I have dates, but no letter-play stats.)

Been seeing/ignoring pieces like this for a month now, so I'll just go on record & say I hope the #SFGiants make no big moves at all. Because: 1. Call me sentimental, but I'm a buy & hold investor. Adames, Devers, & Arraez were surprisingly good pickups, and I want to see them next year too. ...

Quick hit video of a dude asking people how much they spent on World Cup finals tix and then their occupation. CEO of KC Chiefs, owner of Welch’s, and an inconspicuous “consultant”. See if you can identify him.

World-class structural and seismic design provisions have also been largely government funded at the national level. (That said, the ease with which regulations can be killed and whole cabinet departments ripped apart means the idea of a national building code is, well, fraught. Let's not do that.)

The National Bureau of Standards, an agency within the US Department of Commerce, made a bigger contribution to plumbing science and standardization than any other entity in the world. It’s referenced either directly or in tables or methodologies in nearly every national standard even today.
