Doing anything in Minecraft is a saga when you have kids. Microsoft family accounts, realm setup (because this way it’s a shared world), privacy settings, account logins on switch with auto login issues. One of the biggest game in the world having this much Microsoft friction is just awful.

I cannot recommend AAA folks going indie. It's brutal out here, funding is rough, and the processes that work in AAA do not translate to indie. If anyone that was laid off insists on going indie and wants to chat about the risks & complications, I'm always available for a chat or call.

A friend recently was reflecting that they felt art direction in games has gotten generally worse. I think it's a good use of our time & energy to celebrate the fact that while there are a lot of whiffs in the world today, the recent era has also seen some of the greatest of all time

My heart goes out to the Supervive team. It's hard to sunset your game, and considering the circumstances, they've said it can feel terrible. That said, they aren't shutting down, and they are trying again, and I applaud that heavily!

There is NO FUCKING EXCUSE for this to be happening. I had a baby die in my arms of pertussis some fifty years ago. It was a HORRIBLE death. But my fellow nurses said to me, "It's almost stamped out now, they're all getting the shots, we won't be seeing this again." HOW THE FUCK ARE WE HERE. 😡

KENTUCKY HEALTH ALERT
Increase in Pertussis in Kentucky
Recommendations for Identification and Prevention
November 21, 2025
Kentucky health officials are alerting providers that cases of pertussis ("whooping cough") have increased steadily across the Commonwealth in recent weeks. To date, 566 cases of pertussis have been reported in Kentucky in 2025, the highest number of cases in the Commonwealth since 2012. This follows a trend that was first announced in July 2024 when pertussis cases began increasing in Kentucky to levels not seen in over a decade. Health officials anticipate that pertussis will continue to increase during the winter months based on historic trends. Many U.S. states and other countries are also experiencing elevated levels of pertussis.
Many of the recent cases have occurred in young infants, and health officials also recently confirmed the third pertussis-related death in a Kentucky infant within the last year. This follows two other infant deaths that were announced in June. These are Kentucky's first pertussis deaths since 2018. None of the infants nor their mothers received the recommended pertussis vaccinations during pregnancy or early infancy. Health officials urge all Kentuckians to remain up to date on recommended pertussis immunizations and emphasize the importance of maternal immunization during pregnancy, and for all infants beginning promptly at two months of age. Health officials also encourage providers to consider pertussis as a diagnosis in addition to circulating seasonal respiratory viruses such as influenza, RSV and COVID-19.
A significant number of cases have also occurred in school-aged children, many of whom were up to date on pertussis vaccination. Immunity from vaccination or natural infection wanes over time so infections can occur in people who are fully vaccinated. However, the vaccine is known to reduce disease severity, and hospitalization among vaccinated individuals is rare.

Was waiting for #Dispatch from @adhocstudio.com to come out today. I gotta say, it’s well worth the anticipation. I cannot wait to run through it a few times just to really explore its narrative. Honestly, it’s one of my games of the year, in quality and in what I needed out of a game this year.

Been doing some traveling. New Zealand and New York were amazing! Definitely learned my limit of how many floors up I’m comfortable with. It’s been super inspiring to travel and meet so many cool people in game dev and see these iconic places.

I’m at an amazing coffee shop, Customs, in downtown Wellington and the amount of absolute friendliness of people in here is off the charts! It’s such a nice place to relax. No place in Vancouver is like this.

Saw a little gang of 13 year olds on e-bikes on a super busy road this afternoon at a red light. After first I was amused and a bit like, “Why are you all in traffic.” Then the light turned green and half of them did wheelies and rode off down the road. 🤙 I have now decided I will never be as cool.
