One question we hear all the time is, “Where are the prizes?” The answer is… there aren’t any. Sparks is all about playing for the fun of it. No tickets, prize counter or redemption games. Just pinball, arcade games, skee-ball, and the memories of a time when the game itself was the reward.

We uncovered these photos from July 1989 in the Mall archives. They capture our space. As you look at the people waving, it’s impossible not to wonder where life took them. For one moment in 1989, they’re forever preserved on film—almost as if they’re waving across the decades to all of us in 2026.

Pushing to get this preserved since it has already been lost once before for 10 years. I'm not sure if another unit will pop up if this one dies.

www.gofundme.com/f/fund-expen... Hey! We have the last Aerosmith: Quest For Fame in the world. We're trying to crowdfund to cover the expenses to preserve it. This is a unique piece of rhythm game history, and we plan to place it in a public arcade! Any support would be wildly appreciated!

Went to Pinball Pete's for the first time after they reopened. They fucked up their Cactus Canyon machine by installing a mod that messes up a lot of the flow of the game and audio. Heavily disappointed.

Went to a new local arcade (Oakland Mall) and had such a great time! Lots of pinball, vintage arcade cabinets and a random bunch (a pack?) of furries! Had to thank the lady running the place for having these flags up. “You’re more than welcome, MORE than welcome!” with the biggest smile.

I had a amazing time at Sparks Pinball Museum / Sparks Passport yesterday! If you’re in the Detroit area, it’s worth a visit. Shoutout to the people keeping these weird games alive.
