Finally got to talk to my parents. This being so far is so fucking hard, I just want to hug them both. They seem frazzled and shocked but otherwise okay, and are in their cabin in Montana as the paperwork begins. They’re lucky to have a place to rest, where many don’t. 
Case number for daughter’s citizenship received and a request for 3 more documents. I’ll take it as a positive sign!

Me: How did you get in to see the cemetery if the roads are blocked? Brother: I ask the officers if they are going to arrest me for walking by them, they say no and I walk by. I’m 4th generation here, IDGAF. We are a feisty lot 😂
Small miracle: the internment is okay. The fire stopped just short. My brother went up this morning to check before we told parents.
