Who's my mutual who posts about misused words in fic? Here's one I've noticed lately: "Wringer" is what you get put through. "Ringer" is an impostor*, usually one with greater talents than typical, or if dead, a lookalike. *This is the primary spelling, but "imposter" is now also correct.

In the late 90's people started using WYSIWYG editors like Dreamweaver to make websites, instead of by hand, and the html produced was famously complete dogshit. There were weird <br> tags everywhere, it'd look normal but be a huge pain in the ass to modify or figure out what fucked up, etc

I was IQ tested when I was a kid and rode that high until Briggs-Myers tests came into vogue and then I reveled in being an INTP and now I recognize that both are basically the nerd equivalents of zodiac signs, but then that's a very Taurus thing to say, isn't it

People say this shit about autism, too. There. Are. No. Supports. Provided. To. Late. Diagnosed. Neurodivergent. Adults. Might get tiny gestures of accommodation at work, but more likely mistreated. There are *very limited* supports made available to neurodivergent children with early diagnosis.
