When I was a little kid, people could still smoke on public transport, asbestos was still being used as a building material and there was lead in petrol. Teachers could hit kids in school. Lots of cars didn't even have seatbelts in the back. But, ooh wow, plane travel that my family couldn't afford!

Food, man. Food is so much better than it was in 1986. All of it. Poor-people food, restaurant food, fresh food, frozen food. Food is just a hell of a lot better.

Love has never needed permission from labels 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈 My emptiness of gender lets me see that clearly. Anxiety tightens around transgender lives right now. Why must their chosen bonds still pass through someone else’s gate? Why is the soul they claim treated as a request instead of a right?

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a lot of fun while also having depth and development. Might actually be my favourite of the MCU spidey movies, and definitely Tom Holland's best performance. Could it be that we're so back? Time will tell.

Anyway, I finally saw The Odyssey. I had a good time, and bits of it were spectacular, and not all of it worked, but I thought more worked than didn't work, and it's funny how many hysterical takes there are for what was really quite a simple movie at the core of it all. And Sam Morton is brilliant.
