This honestly surprises me because I always considered perseverance my primary. But after reading the descriptions, kindness/perseverance definitely makes sense for me. 💜💚 And reading that tagline (“No matter how many times I got hurt, I never let that make me cruel.”) resonates with me so much.

I’m seeing a lot of people who feel upset and betrayed about this. I’d like to give some perspective on this as a software engineer to help other game devs understand it better. Specifically, I want to answer what is he saying, what does it mean, and what does it mean for you specifically.

I use language models to develop Ren'Py, and have since Github copilot came out in beta in 2021. Before that I've used other tools (code completion, etc.) I don't vibe code Ren'Py, though - that's not something you do if you want a project you can maintain. 1/2

If you are commissioning an artist, and want a specific pose, don't run to genAI to try and make it for you. Draw a stick person. Stick person poses are beloved among all artists. We can see exactly what you want. Do not fear sending the stick person. The stick person is magical.

I was toying with the idea of making another Sans VN. But after trying to brainstorm and trying to write and finally just stopping and sitting with it for a moment, I realized something important. I haven’t actually wanted to make one—I just wanted to /want/ to make one.
