Es espectacular lo de Tite Kubo en Bleach: a) coger el final que escribio hace 10 años, tirarlo a la basura de una manera espectacular, b) reivindicar a uno de sus mejores personajes, Orihime, que había tenido un espacio narrativo infame y c) pivotar la narración de la agresión a los cuidados

Cuando estudiaba la carrera (Historia) una de las cosas que más recuerdo es, en Hª Medieval, como los estudios de movilidad y redes mostraban como el vocabulario de los desplazamientos de hombres era el de las personas (viaje), y en las mujeres, el del movimiento de objetos (transporte).

Cuentan amigos que están en el incendio de Jaca y alrededores que van los turistas/segunda residencia a los pueblos o peñas a hacerse fotos con el incendio detrás, de risas. Como nos demostró la pandemia, la gente es capaz de lo mejor y de lo peor y lo que te tendrían que hacer es irse a su casa.

Our grandparents faced asbestos. Our parents faced lead. We’re facing microplastics. These corrupt bigshots flooded our food, water, and soil with plastic while ordinary people were left with the consequences. Hemp is a major solution to the microplastic issue.

A selection of some of the Ainuic toponyms I spotted while travelling around Akita Prefecture. Some like Yonaizawa preserve the Ainu nay (river) while also attaching a Japanese translation (zawa = mountain stream) on the end!

If we look at researcher Yagi Mitsunori’s map of Ainu toponyms containing nai (grey squares), pet (black squares), and be (black triangles), we see that potential Ainu toponyms go all the way to the edge of the Kansai region. Only Pet is really used in modern Ainu. Nai suggests much older names.
