Chaotic good (usually). Curious skeptic. Unfucker of clusters. I say what everyone else is thinking. Design is political. I swear because I care. she/her. designinginward.com

putting up a lead of any kind - a win, even - on a 13:1 spending ratio is an all time legendary performance. it fundamentally means that no amount of money can buy you an election if your opponent is motivated and organized

I couldn’t be prouder of the movement we’ve built in mid-Michigan. Thank you, Ambassador Bridget Brink and Matt Maasdam, for your years of public service and all your hard work on the campaign trail. While tonight we celebrate, there’s still much more work ahead.

I just jumped the ship from Miro, who I have been a customer of since it was Realtime Boards, to Mural, because Miro's AI features were actively interfering with my work and there is no option to turn them off unless you're on an enterprise plan.

I like this notetaking example. it is a good case of how gender works. Notetaking has never been about producing a transcript. It is a bureaucratic skill in the 20th c. organixarion because it is SENSEMAKING. Those women socialized to take notes? They have been doing men’s metacognition for them

Notetaking in meetings is tiny case in point - used to be some predictable social assumptions who would do it; now anyone can offer to do ”notetaking” by turning on the AI listener. Further interesting scenario is human recollection / notes (taken by habit by a person) conflict with AI summary

I am rewatching "Hunt for Red October" (as part of my 'rewatch all Sam Neill stuff' project), and I would love to hear from some Russian speakers how authentic the actors accents are when they are actually speaking Russian, because Sean Connery still sounds incredibly Scottish to me, lol.

🧵on the AAUP endorsement of Dr. Abdul El-Sayed for U.S. Senate in the Michigan Democratic primary, the first-ever electoral endorsement in the organization's 110-year history. 1

"For the first political endorsement in AAUP's 110-year history, we are proud to endorse Dr. Abdul El-Sayed because he shares our vision of higher education as a public good. He will fight for tuition-free and debt-free higher education and a system that works for everyone-not just those who can afford it."

Birdie is sleeping on the footstool (upon which my feet are resting) and I accidentally bumped her with my foot, and the only reaction she had was to reach out a paw to grab the offending foot and pull it closer to her and that is why I consider her the world's biggest sweetheart
