A clock separates human & seafolk, alluding to Lara's time ticking down. Sayonara Lara reframed light as life itself, and now a fading sunset is interrupted by artificial light just as Mari is presented with a temporary fix. One of many brief, fake lights she encounters while seeking a true solution

After having watched ep6 of false memory, I genuinely feel like this is one of the most important pieces of media to come out recently. This is a life-changing, life-affirming show with some of the most gorgeous animation and creative direction ive seen yet. Beautiful stuff.

Jaadugar's commitment to depicting cultures with care means not only animating their material aspects, but also attempting to capture their beliefs. Kotaro Matsunaga, who'd already overseen the stunning ceremony in episode #06, was a perfect choice to direct/board the highly spiritual ninth episode

theres a million things to unpack from this weeks sayolara but lucas sibling being a gnc boy who uses boku and wears dresses is the thing i least expected. i saw literally every single person assume he was just his sister (me included). And no thats not a grok tl, it says 弟. Extremely interesting

goodbye lara its leo. Young character with long gold hair wearing a dressgoodbye lara tweet about the character leo, lucas younger brother

yomi no tsugai is getting so good. arakawas still a master of Buildup and Payoff after all this time, it took longer to get here than it did for fma but this entire arc has been such a satisfying cavalcade of everything clashing and coming to a head in the same way as like, the first greed bit

new goodbye lara illustration from newtype. notably, the text here seems to be written from Mari and Lara's alternating perspectives and provides insight into the former's thoughts on the hot chocolate scene, i don't really have faith in myself to translate it but i'll try in alt text #goodbyelara

Goodbye lara newtype illustration of the two of them eating cake. Says seeking love above it. Features text from their alternating perspectives, paragraphs sometimes structured like they're finishing the corresponding lines of the previous, unless im misinterpreting, which is possible. Bad Translation coming

(Lara 1) "On that day, she gave me a warm can of hot chocolate."

(Narrator 1) Lara's heart was melted by the sweetness she tasted for the first time,

(Mari 1) "On that day, I gave her a warm can of hot chocolate."

(Narrator 2) that's what Lara knew,

(Lara 2) "because it was the sweetest thing in the world."

(Mari 2) "because I thought it would be a sign of love."

(Mari 3) "Lara's grown to love sweets."

(Mari 4) "She claimed she would 'die for cake!' and started working at the cake shop with me."

(Lara 3) "Even though cake's always around me... this sweetness shared with her feels special. Could this feeling I have right now lead to 'true love'?

im so interested in what theyre doing with kota. At first I thought the discrepancy between the female anglerfish appearance and how they’re masc as a human was a mistake or for recognizability, but they have the remnants of the male-female fusion as a human, so it definitely isn’t lack of research

Goodbye Lara Kota and Lisa. Kota is an anglerfish turned human who has the remnants of anglerfish male female fusion on their back seen in the image Male and female anglerfish attached for life YouTube thumbnail Angelfish diragam showing the parasitic male

Get you a show that can be Dezaki and K-ON at the same time, because everything is allowed and this week's episode was led by someone who grew up on the former and mentored the latter. Grandpa still kicking
