I run marathons, slowly. For my damn noggin. I complain about the Montreal Canadiens. I like to say I'm vegan, but I'm really a carbitarian tbh.

It really is true the first 40 years are all addition. New friends, new relationships, new coworkers. The next 40 is all subtraction without kids or grandkids. Worked a place with 300 percent turnover you know a ton of folks. Good dude died. Seems every 2 weeks I know someone who has passed.

Nothing makes you borderline have a stroke at work is when low performing workers aren't coached/corrective actioned, etc etc because there's no one to replace them if fired. So the good workers are driven into the ground even harder.

"I actually love using AI for my posters, advertising, etc. It allows me to shift creative time to making money time." And that about sums it all up perfectly. Fuck yo soul, fuck yo artistry, fuck what makes you unique. We got quarterly results to maximize.

It's interesting being the 48 year old guy at work. Chatting with 18 year old coworkers and 67 year old coworkers. Sometimes I'm Steve Buscemi, sometimes I'm Grandpa Simpson.

Libraries aren't just places for books. They're one of the few remaining free public gathering spots. Community events, workshops, some have social service offices in them. It's not just books. And they run on next to nothing of a budget. Amazing bang for buck.

OTD in 1940, USSR formally annexed Lithuania. Soviets troops had been "invited in" (in accordance with absolutely nothing to do with our treaty with Nazis) & then held "elections" where 99%+ voted to join USSR. None of this should sound familiar to you.

Shout out to those working today. Long weekends are nice. But in this $80-$100 grocery bag world, I get it, work those stat holidays. Got a 16 hour shift today.

Sunday morning coffee time. Thoughts like marbles in my head. Growing up in poverty if you've never experienced it. How much a small amount of money means. $5. "Go to the store for..." Get there, I lost the money. Walk home, tell Mom I lost the money. 40 years later that look still haunts me.

We're days away from Pumpkin Spice season. "Let's circle back in the new year." emails are just around the corner. Merry Christmas everyone. I'll be unreachable till 2027. Close enough.

I'm always perplexed whenever I get a new follower and I check their account. The ones that have 40,000 accounts they are following. Like, how? And why? You aren't interacting or getting info from 40,000 accounts. You'd need a month to catch up. An old followback thing from twitter? Old habit?
