I literally just peaked at the Scritchy Scratchy thread on the AP server and the mods are ripping someone apart for asking if gen AI is used in the AP world and other AP worlds they’re interested in playing. Jesus fucking christ something needs to change on that server.

Speedrunner pro tip: When you get a new PB and you bop someone, make sure you let them know IMMEDIATELY! Tag them on social media/discord or send them a DM. I also recommend saying something like "lol it wasnt even that hard" so they know you really mean business!

I can't exactly take that to the bank, but I feel like there's a cumulative positive force behind that. And when I say "feel" I don't mean like in a wishy-washy way - there is a tangible effect that comes from that.

I've never been review bombed per se, probably because you can't review bomb someone who's never designed a game, but can confirm that speaking out has lead to burned bridges and people completely shutting you out. It's also lead to many people just being grateful and remembering that sacrifice.

Pour l’instant je suis trop épuisé pour savoir quoi faire. Alors je me dis que si à la fermeture des submits je vois que Speedons a ses 600 submits, peut-être je pondrais des submits à l’arrache pour me donner 1 mois de pluss de réflexion...

It sucks because I believe Speedons has upheld -- and will uphold -- many important values of inclusivity in the event. If you want to be there and add representation, after all of what was discussed by @speedonnons-mieux.bsky.social, I think you should make that enlightened decision.

I have to disclose that this decision was rather easy for me to make, I come from a place of privilege where I can choose which marathon to go to. I also felt like other people could have gone there, but now I'm a bit anxious about the kinds of people who will submit and have their runs accepted.

On that topic, since I did not really talk about it, but it needs to be said: I will not be a part of Speedons this year. I think it is healthy to give it a year to observe how Medecins du Monde behaves. It will be simpler for me to focus on the Fastest Furs events instead, restreaming and all 🙂
