The fact someone can commit sexual assault and be punished in a discrete manner so as not to “ruin their life” and then years later become a popular entity in media, causing even more trauma when the assault is revealed? If the initial punishment didn’t favor the assaulter, this’d be less common.

When Over the Garden Wall first came out I made an essay sized post on Tumblr about how the show was an instant classic and that it might take a few years to stick but it was going to be a seasonal staple/ annual rewatch in October. I still feel kinda smug about being right.
