before you get mad at me and reply to my posts, please bear in mind that I don't live in America. I am part of @trashfuture.bsky.social @lionsledbydonkeys.bsky.social and I am 1/2 of secondhomes.bandcamp.com

My kid is fixated on the idea that when there are like items of different sizes that means they're parent and baby. So I would like to present to you GlowPal and their child Officer Down

My Glow Pal plushie star toy and a smaller star plushie that looks like the Officer Down meme

I wrote and hosted both @trashfuture.bsky.social episodes this week, which I'm going to feature here. The first is about the Piddington "referendum," but also about the way European governments aim to make migrant boat crossings as deadly as possible www.patreon.com/trashfuture/...

The Piddington Omakase feat. Nathan Akehurst | Trashfuture

Editor’s note: this is something of an unusual episode, sorry! It’s just Nate and Hussein, but we’ve brought on journalist Nathan Akehurst,

a perfectly sunny cloudless day in Amsterdam and I am in a plane with a broken engine that is hotter than fucking dog shit inside the cabin. All those years I made jokes about the Dutch language and now I really really wish I spoke it and could therefore understand the crew, who seem worried

i will forever remain grateful for the guy on twitter who shared the story of how he saw James Woods mouth off racistly to a bouncer at a bar in Provincetown(?) and get knocked out, after which time people also stole his shoes. For a brief moment there was harmony in the world

lol my flight got diverted because of a medical emergency and they landed us in reykjavik in the middle of the night and deplaned us and sent us through passport control and then the crew vanished and then british airways sent us links to book an overnight hotel room but for a hotel at heathrow

I absolutely believe that people were bored the first time they heard Led Zeppelin debut "Stairway to Heaven" live. By contrast I bet no one was bored when Lynyrd Skynyrd first played "Free Bird." They were like "god, this song is so good! I'm so glad I'm drunk as shit right now, and also racist"

I'm toying with the idea of maybe doing a LLBD episode about the Brabant killers and the theories of it being a group of far-right police/military personnel. But what I've learned is that in France and Belgium the MO of all 1980s police was "abuse detainees until false confession and lose paperwork"

I've mentioned before that there's a hyper-local party here that's seemingly far-right-adjacent but only in that they hate cross-border workers. they also love shitty graphic design and AI art. they have recently put out a flyer with one of the most remarkably weird images I have ever seen

MCG flyer claiming France is stealing Geneva's money. The eagle from the Geneva coat of arms has been stripped of its feathers below the neck. It is chasing a bag of money with the French flag on it. It's an anthropomorphic bag of money with what can only be described as a perverted grin. its feet are notionally made of rope and look lumpy in an obscene way. there is something horny about this picture

having seen this happen many times when I was in the army, to include situations where people died or were permanently injured, and also as someone who has had heat exhaustion that came very close to heatstroke in similarly stupid training, my recommendation is to reject all "military-style fitness"

This story should have more attention. ASU's idiot coach brought in some military prick to run a grueling boot camp-style workout in the heat, which included restricting water intake. NHL prospect player suffers a heat stroke and is probably going to die from it. arizonasports.com/ncaa/arizona...
