The NTSB says it will no longer email news outlets or reporters with notifications of upcoming press conferences, including those on plane crashes in Washington and Philadelphia. Instead, all notifications will be made on X. We're filing a FOIA to find out more about the change in policy.

Cheap EVs require smaller batteries. Smaller batteries require a culture shift in which we talk much less about “range anxiety” and more about how only ~2% of trips are >50 miles.

I remain baffled that no auto company has tried to make the EV equivalent of the original Beetle -- a small, practical, bare-bones car, with none of the touchscreen bells & whistles, cheap enough for working Americans to afford. Just an electric motor on wheels. Is there not enough profit there?
