It will surprise no one that on a schedule of little sleep, incredible stress, and terrible diet for 3 months straight, I am sick again. I honestly thought I had the flu, as rough as I feel, but nope. Damn Covid again.

HOAs are the devil. Our previous property management company was local & easy to deal with. New board. HOA president presents as a grumpy militant. Brings in new company. Horrible to deal with. They’re raising our fees again. I misplaced the letter they mailed out and need it. 🧵

Every October, I get sick. Without fail. It’s my favorite month but I always spend part of it being miserably sick. Apparently today is this year’s start. I just hope it’s not Covid, but it feels like it might be. I feel too rough to even watch movies or read. Just wanna lay here and rot.

Well, we just trapped 4 cats, 2 that are visibly pregnant, and one who appeared to be lactating. Then we found these guys.

One of the kittens didn’t make it. Fading kitten syndrome. RIP Rainbow. Your life was precious. My heart is with the bottle-feeding volunteer who felt this loss greater than any of us. It’s important to keep trying though. Her siblings are still here. Mama cat is MIA.

Another Friday night sitting in my car on a dark street stalking cats. This time I’m trying to trap a young mom who gave birth yesterday to these babies. The homeowner took the kittens and then called us when it became obvious bottle-babies are hard work! I just hope mom’s still around.

It finally happened so I can confirm it’s true—black cat adoptions are up thanks to Flow! Our rescue received a request to be matched with a black cat because their 10-year-old loved the movie. Thank you, Flow, for showing people how wonderful Voids are. Black cats are the best!

So I met with a marketing guru recently to ask for ideas for recruiting volunteers/donations for the cat rescue I founded and manage. His biggest advice was to find an extrovert willing to go out and champion us. And if I couldn’t find one, I needed to channel my inner extrovert. Oh, y’all. 😂

World events aside, my 2025 on a personal level has really sucked. It started with me getting Covid after an elderly friend had a stroke and we both got exposed at the hospital. Then, a month of going every day to care for her cats (she’s fostering some for us). Then I caught the flu from a friend.
