Seated for Hadestown at the movie theater, I can’t believe I managed to catch that it was playing when I was at The Odyssey yesterday, I still haven’t ever seen a production after being obsessed with the soundtrack since COVID
OK SO IN MY DEFENSE the battle axes used for that scene in Wishbone DID look like this and had holes in the blades for some reason instead of being tied to form tents like they were in the Nolan movie which makes more sense to me, idk I'm not a bronze age battle ax expert

Going to see The Odyssey. I don’t think I’ve ever read a complete translation of it but I do remember the Wishbone adaptation so I’m curious to see how it holds up to my memory of that
I’ve gotten totally sidetracked from Elden Ring by Katamari Damacy Reroll. I’m working through the achievement where you complete your collection by rolling up everything at least once and it’s been SO stupidly fun, I can’t believe how well this game holds up for me

I regularly review books online, and let me tell you, negative reviews are actively discouraged. If you didn't like it? Don't say anything. Less than 4 stars? Keep it to yourself. It's becoming a terrible ecosystem where we can't discuss anything critically or with any nuance.

Too many writers (books, television, film) think being earnest is neither cool nor funny. Especially those handling older properties. They want to be cynical to look mature, subversive to look funny, and sarcastic to look smart. And in the end, all they make is the same self-aware, hollow junk.
