Feeling lazy so I'll just reshare this post for #ShowMeYourKnits and patterns I've made twice or more. Had so much fun knitting Flannel Crush Cowl.

I'm glad #ShowMeYourKnits clarified that colorwork includes mosaic, because my brain tends to go "is not real colorwork if it's not stranded," which I haven't done (yet!). But mosaic is my jam, so much so I knitted this cowl twice with indie dyed + handspun yarn.

A Flannel Crush Cowl, pattern by Samantha Guerin. A cyan colored knit Cowl on a fence post, with contrast flannel-like colorwork shifting from pink at the top down through orange, yellow, Grey, and green.

Get my book from a library! I was broke for decades. For more than half of my life, nearly all of my access to literature was thanks to having a library card. Feel no more shame in using yours than you would heap upon me. Libraries kick ass.

People are always so apologetic about getting our books from the library. And I'm just like, beyond just their massive civilizational utility, libraries are the best advertising an author could possibly hope for

Just for grins, I looked around to see what the nearest rock was to me, and I found this one sitting on my desk. It was probably something I picked up outside sometime, frowned at a lump in my pocket, and pulled out to set on desk. Or it's a treasure left behind by kiddo. Either is possible.

It’s Rock Day: Rock Check! Do you have your rock? Do you need a rock? Can you find a rock? I found this lovely porphyritic basalt in my washing machine. I love how the different crystal sizes tell a story of an eruption rudely interrupting cozy subterranean cooling. Photos & stories welcome.

A very round dull rock, flecks of white and pale grey rectangular crystals in a darker grey matrix

This is how I've felt for a while. It's this weird thing where I am feeling better about the long range outlook for this country but increasingly stressed about figuring out how to get us all there in one piece.

my confidence that these people are going to lose is rising and my estimate of the amount of damage they are going to do on the way out, especially as they realize they're losing, is also rising
